Engineer

KP Group is seeking a skilled Design Engineer (Electrical) to contribute to the successful design, procurement, execution, and commissioning of solar PV power plants. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electrical engineering aspects of utility-scale or ground-mount solar projects.

Design Engineering:

• Prepare and review single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable layouts, earthing layouts, and electrical designs for solar PV systems
• Select and specify key electrical components such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection devices, and cables
• Conduct electrical system studies including load flow analysis, short circuit calculations, and protection coordination
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and codes such as IEC, IS, and utility regulations

Procurement Support:

• Prepare detailed technical specifications for procurement of electrical equipment
• Evaluate vendor offers for technical compliance and assist in vendor selection

Execution Supervision:

• Supervise installation of electrical equipment including solar modules, inverters, transformers, HT panels, and grid systems
• Ensure all electrical works adhere to approved drawings, specifications, and quality benchmarks
• Coordinate effectively with civil and mechanical teams for interdisciplinary execution

Quality & Safety Assurance:

• Implement and monitor quality control procedures for all electrical installations
• Ensure compliance with site safety protocols and electrical safety standards

Commissioning & Testing:

• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning activities such as megger testing, Hi-pot testing, and relay testing
• Support grid synchronization and monitor initial operational performance of the plant

Documentation & Reporting:

• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for electrical activities
• Maintain and update project documentation including as-built drawings, testing records, and commissioning reports
