Electrical Designer- Substation Physical Layout

• Review the input received from the client and understand the scope of work and then plan work accordingly without changing design intent.
• Good understanding of the Vendor submittal drawings.
• Preparation of Substation Single Line Diagrams & Operating Diagrams (Optional).
• Preparation of Electrical Layouts Plan & Sections / Overall layouts
• Preparation of Control Building / GIS Building Layouts
• Preparation of Cable tray and trenches layouts Plan & Details for Trench & Conduits.
• Preparation of Lighting Layouts and Lighting Scheme drawings
• Preparation of Grounding/Earthing layouts and Details for Complete Equipment and Buildings.
• Preparation of Lightning Protection Layouts and Details
• Preparation of Auxiliary Single Line Diagram for AC/DC Systems.
• To be able to understand end-client design and drafting systems and standards implemented in work.
• Coordination with other disciplines designers and engineers as applicable.
• Coordinate with BIM/CAD Lead concerning project requirements.
• Candidate should be able to visualize and produce a clash-free 3D model using Navisworks/Revit (and similar tools from the Bentley suite of software)
• Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to work independently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to safe work practices.
• Should be a good team player.
• Able to provide input into projects with minimal supervision. Can prioritize work products based on the project schedule.
• Preparation of Bill of Material for Complete Air Insulated Substation(AIS) & Gas Insulated Substation (GIS)

Person Specifications:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering & Designer.
• For Diploma 4-7 years experience
• Electrical Computer Aided Design experience on Substation (AIS & GIS) Voltage Level from 11Kv to 800kV.
• 2D and 3D Modelling and design experience using the following Software applications.
• Autodesk Revit
• Autodesk AutoCAD
• Bentley MicroStation
• Autodesk Navisworks will be an added advantage
