Key Responsibilities:

• Review and accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for emergency department encounters.
• Ensure coding compliance with current federal regulations and payer guidelines.
• Validate documentation and query providers when necessary to clarify discrepancies.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards as defined by the department.
• Stay current with coding changes, especially related to ED services.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience in ED coding
• Solid understanding of ED coding guidelines and facility vs. professional coding distinctions
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
