Digital Content Specialist

Position Overview
We are in search of a skilled technical writer to develop comprehensive and user-friendly documentation for individuals utilizing an enterprise integration service. This role involves collaboration with product managers, implementation teams, support staff, domain experts, and engineers to transform intricate processes into straightforward instructions. The documentation process follows a docs-as-code approach, and the selected writer will responsibly leverage AI-assisted tools to enhance research, drafting, consistency, and ongoing maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop onboarding, configuration, operational, troubleshooting, and support documentation.
• Articulate integration workflows, anticipated system behavior, data prerequisites, and error management in easily understandable terms.
• Create task-oriented guides, quick-reference documents, FAQs, release notes, and escalation protocols.
• Conduct interviews with domain experts and assess instructions from the perspective of the reader.
• Oversee documentation as version-controlled assets utilizing Markdown, Git, branches, pull requests, and peer review processes.
• Synchronize documentation modifications with product launches and operational updates.
• Employ AI tools to facilitate research, drafting, editing, summarization, terminology management, and content-gap evaluations.
• Ensure all AI-generated content is validated against authoritative references and domain experts.
• Safeguard confidential data and adhere to organizational protocols concerning approved AI tools and data management.
• Develop consistent terminology, reusable templates, ownership protocols, approval workflows, and review timelines.
• Utilize documentation analytics, feedback, and support trends to prioritize enhancements.

• Proven experience in crafting technical or operational documentation for external clients or enterprise users.
• Strong capability to simplify complex systems without excessive technical jargon.
• Proficient in producing onboarding materials, configuration guidelines, troubleshooting documents, FAQs, and support procedures.
• Hands-on experience with docs-as-code methodologies, including Markdown, Git, pull requests, and review workflows.
• Experience with generative AI or other AI-assisted writing tools in a productive and ethical manner.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated content rather than accepting it at face value.
• Understanding of integrations, dependencies, data flows, configurations, and relevant technical terminology.
• Exceptional skills in interviewing, research, editing, and structuring information.
• Strong proficiency in written English and experience collaborating across diverse cultures and time zones.

• Experience in documenting enterprise integrations, SaaS platforms, APIs, or data-exchange systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with static-site documentation platforms and automated documentation verification is advantageous.
• Experience in creating diagrams, workflow visuals, screenshots, and other forms of visual guidance is a plus.
• Knowledge of dealership, ERP, parts, service, equipment, rental, or customer-data processes is beneficial.
• Experience collaborating with implementation, customer-success, training, or production-support teams is desirable.
• Experience in developing AI prompts, reusable writing workflows, terminology management, or AI-assisted quality checks is preferred.
• A practical candidate exercise will require submission via a small Git repository. The candidate will be asked to enhance a flawed onboarding or troubleshooting document, detail the use of AI, identify what needed human validation, and submit changes through a pull request. This will assess customer empathy, writing judgment, docs-as-code skills, and responsible use of AI.
