Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot database platforms on Cloud (AWS) and On-Premise environments.
- Develop and enforce database backup policies for large databases, ensuring regular backups.
- Perform database maintenance (e.g., compression for MySQL, vacuum for PostgreSQL).
- Tune and optimize database parameters for performance improvements.
- Lead database upgrade and migration projects.
- Provide technical guidance for integration, testing, design, and development.
- Improve and create DBA policies, procedures, and standards.
- Validate backup strategies and ensure replication mechanisms (Golden Gate, Streaming Replication) are properly configured.
- Set up production alerts using tools like PagerDuty or equivalent monitoring tools.
- Handle technical escalations and lead a team of DBAs in troubleshooting complex issues.
- Work within an infrastructure support environment, responding to tickets using a ticket management tool.
- Be available for on-call support during off-hours and weekends.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 6 to 8 years of experience in IT Infrastructure Management.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in MySQL, PostgreSQL, Aurora/RDS database administration.
- Experience with database tuning, optimization, upgrades, and migrations.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with replication methods (Golden Gate, Streaming Replication).
- Exposure to AWS Cloud database services and infrastructure management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- AWS Certified Solution Architect (preferred).
- Experience working in large-scale IT environments.
- Knowledge of incident management and monitoring tools (PagerDuty, etc.).
Work Location & Schedule:
- Mandatory on-site work at the customer's office during all business working days.
- Should be available for on-call support outside office hours and weekends.
