Data Analytics Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Data Analytics Engineer to enhance and develop our data pipelines and architecture. In this role, you will address business inquiries, identify the required data for insights, and construct the necessary pipelines and models to achieve this in a streamlined and effective manner. A solid understanding of SQL, Snowflake, and dbt is essential, as well as proficiency in utilizing AI tools and coding assistants to improve productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and sustain data pipelines and models that facilitate analytics, reporting, and business intelligence.
• Evaluate and optimize existing pipelines in Snowflake and dbt to address inefficiencies and enhance reliability.
• Investigate data discrepancies and pipeline challenges to uncover the true cause of issues rather than merely addressing symptoms.
• Incorporate AI tools and coding assistants into daily tasks to expedite development and streamline query writing.
• Articulate your findings and processes clearly to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, including product and finance departments.
• Create documentation and tests to maintain the integrity of the data warehouse and ensure that others can rely on and build upon your solutions.

Qualifications:

• 6 years of experience in the fields of data engineering or analytics engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.

Essential Skills:

• Proficient, hands-on experience with SQL, Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran.
• Proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools in a dynamic environment.
• Skilled at investigating issues deeply to understand the underlying factors driving them, rather than just executing tasks as assigned.
• Regularly utilizes AI tools as part of the development workflow.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a talent for translating technical concepts into accessible business language.

Desirable Skills:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical area.
• Familiarity with version control systems (git), CI/CD for data pipelines, and business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Sigma, or Hex.
• Previous experience in a rapidly evolving analytics organization.
