Key Responsibilities

Data Model Ownership & Lifecycle Management

• Own the complete data modeling lifecycle from requirement gathering to deployment and maintenance
• Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models using Databricks and similar platforms
• Ensure models remain scalable, optimized, and aligned with business objectives

Data Architecture & Design

• Build efficient data structures aligned with lakehouse and data warehouse architectures
• Translate complex business requirements into structured and scalable data models
• Support integration of new data sources into enterprise data platforms

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders
• Gather and refine data requirements and translate them into technical models
• Act as the primary SME for all data modeling-related discussions within the domain

Data Governance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance standards and policies
• Maintain metadata, data definitions, and documentation for all models
• Lead model validation, quality assurance, and performance optimization activities

Model Optimization & Maintenance

• Review and enhance existing data models for scalability and performance
• Ensure maintainability and consistency across enterprise datasets
• Support continuous improvement of data modeling frameworks

Documentation & Standards Enforcement

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, metadata, and definitions
• Promote best practices for data modeling across teams
• Ensure clarity and consistency in enterprise data definitions

Analytics & Reporting Support

• Support analytics and reporting teams with well-structured data models
• Ensure models are optimized for downstream BI and reporting tools
• Collaborate on regulatory and reporting requirements where applicable
