Consultant-Coronary Care

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Treatment

• Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular conditions.
• Monitor patient progress, recommend interventions, and provide evidence-based care plans.
• Supervise and guide junior doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare staff in the coronary care unit (CCU).

Procedures & Interventions

• Perform or assist in cardiac procedures, including catheterization, angioplasty, and stent placement, as applicable.
• Interpret diagnostic tests such as ECGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests.
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and clinical guidelines during interventions.

Collaboration & Coordination

• Work closely with cardiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Coordinate with hospital staff for patient admissions, discharge planning, and post-procedure follow-up.
• Participate in case discussions, clinical rounds, and departmental meetings.

Quality & Compliance

• Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, ethical standards, and hospital policies.
• Implement best practices in patient safety, infection control, and clinical protocols.

Research & Continuous Learning

• Keep updated with latest advancements in cardiology and coronary care.
• Participate in clinical research, audits, and continuing medical education (CME) programs.
• Contribute to the development of protocols and guidelines for coronary care.

Required Qualifications:

• MBBS with MD / DM in Cardiology or equivalent specialization.
• 1–5 years of experience in coronary care or cardiology units.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac diseases, interventions, and critical care management.
• Excellent diagnostic, clinical, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a critical care environment.
