Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales:
- Identify and acquire new SME clients for LAP products, contributing to meeting annual sales targets.
- Develop strategies to drive sales in assigned territories and sectors.
- Engage in lead generation, cold calling, networking, and partnering with intermediaries (e.g., brokers, agents, and consultants) to expand the client base.
- Present SME LAP product offerings to prospective clients and address their financial needs.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing SME clients, ensuring their needs are met, and they receive high-quality service.
- Understand client requirements, assess eligibility, and propose tailored LAP solutions.
- Conduct regular meetings with clients to ensure they are satisfied and provide them with updates on their loan status.
Product Knowledge & Advisory:
- Offer expert advice on LAP products, including loan eligibility, interest rates, repayment schedules, and associated risks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as credit and risk teams, to ensure seamless processing of loan applications and approvals.
- Stay updated with market trends, competition, and regulatory changes affecting the LAP landscape.
Sales Targets & Reporting:
- Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets for LAP products by managing a pipeline of prospects.
- Track and report sales performance, client interactions, and leads in CRM systems.
- Ensure smooth end-to-end delivery of loans, from lead generation to disbursal.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Credit Team to assess loan proposals and ensure quick processing of applications.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute promotional campaigns and client outreach initiatives.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Ensure that all business activities comply with the bank's credit policies, regulatory standards, and internal procedures.
- Assist clients in the documentation process, ensuring that all necessary documents are collected and verified.
- Act as the point of contact for any issues related to loan repayment or restructuring.
Experience Required:
- 5+ years of experience in business development, SME banking, or loans sales, with a focus on Loan Against Property (LAP).
- Proven experience in sales, client acquisition, and relationship management within the SME segment.
- Strong understanding of SME credit products, especially LAP, and knowledge of the lending process, including risk and underwriting.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets, with a proactive approach to lead generation and client engagement.
- Prior experience working with banks, NBFCs, or financial institutions focused on LAP products is preferred.
- Knowledge of SME financial needs, business cycles, and funding challenges.

- Ability to analyze financial statements and assess creditworthiness of SMEs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage clients and stakeholders effectively.

- Proficiency in CRM tools, Excel, and other office software.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- MBA or post-graduate qualification in business/finance is a plus.
- Certifications related to SME lending, financial analysis, or risk management are an advantage.
