Qualifications and Education Requirements

B.E. Mech/Automobile or equivalent from a reputed Institution / University

Role and Responsibilities

• Design and develop BIW components and assemblies using CAD tools (NX).
• Ensure designs meet functional, safety, durability, and manufacturability requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including CAE, manufacturing, and suppliers.
• Provide solutions to problems received due to constraints from packaging, CAE, Manufacturing, etc
• Conduct design reviews and support DFMEA and DVP&R activities.
• Work on weight reduction, cost optimization, and design for manufacturing (DFM).
• Support prototype build and production launch activities.
• Maintain Design BOM in PLM system
• Design release and change management
• Resolve design-related issues during development and post-launch phases.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Preferred Skills

• Strong understanding of BIW sheet metal parts and assembly design, welding processes and joining technologies.
• Knowledge of BIW panel manufacturing and assembly sequences.
• Knowledge of product design for casting component will be added advantage
• Experience in GD&T application, Tolerance Stack-up at Individual part and subassembly/System Level
• Experience in working on door design, door hinge designs will be added advantage.
• Selection of fasteners suitable for required applications
• Should have good understanding of BIW Design & Development lifecycle and milestones
• Knowledge on application of BIW adhesives, sealants
• Experience in DFMEA, PPAP, etc processes
• Experience in Change Management, ECR, ECNs
• Familiarity with crash and NVH requirements and another automotive standards.
• Proficiency in Siemens NX is must
• Experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter, ENOVIA, etc.)
• Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
• Team collaboration to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
• Problem-solving mindset for proactively identifying issues and proposing innovative solutions.
• Attention to detail that ensures high-quality design output with minimal errors.
• Adaptability towards working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Experience working with Passenger Car is a must.
