Arena Application / Production Support SeniorEngineer

Key Responsibilities:

• We are in search of a skilled Arena Application Support Engineer to oversee and maintain Arena and associated enterprise applications in both production and non-production environments.
• The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical background in Unix/Linux shell scripting, Python, cloud fundamentals, and Hadoop support, along with demonstrated experience in application monitoring, incident management, and production operations.
• The selected candidate will be tasked with monitoring application health, addressing incidents, automating operational tasks, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring application uptime within established service levels.

Technical Requirements:

• Proficient knowledge of Unix/Linux commands and operating system principles.
• Practical experience with shell scripting for automation and operational support.
• Familiarity with Python scripting.
• Understanding of cloud computing essentials, preferably within AWS.
• Experience or familiarity with the Hadoop ecosystem.
• Knowledge of HDFS and Hive.
• Experience in supporting applications or tools in production settings.
• Ability to analyze application server and system logs effectively.
• Comprehension of incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management platforms.
• Experience utilizing monitoring tools such as Dynatrace or Splunk.
• Basic understanding of Git or other version control systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The internal requirements for the Arena role encompass knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem, particularly HDFS and Hive, along with monitoring via Dynatrace and Splunk, Python automation scripting, Git, Linux/Unix, and cloud fundamentals.
• According to Apache Hadoop documentation, the functionality of Hadoop is extensively managed through shell commands, scripts, and runtime environment variables.
• Preferred Skills
• Experience in supporting Arena, Alation, Manta, or similar enterprise tools.
• Exposure to AWS services and cloud-based application environments.
• Familiarity with Rally for tracking user stories and features.
• Experience with application monitoring and log analysis tools.
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Knowledge of scheduling and batch processing tools.
• Experience with access, user role, and permission management.
• Familiarity with release deployment and server patching tasks.
• Exposure to automation and continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Experience in a 24/7 or globally distributed support environment.

• Education
