API Testing Engineer

We are seeking a skilled API Testing Engineer with 3-6 years of experience to join our dynamic team in India. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of API testing methodologies and possess hands-on experience with testing tools and automation frameworks. This role involves designing and executing tests, identifying defects, and collaborating with developers to ensure the highest quality of our APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop test plans and test cases for API testing.
• Execute manual and automated tests to ensure API functionality, performance, and security.
• Identify, record, and track defects using bug tracking tools.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand API specifications and requirements.
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure testability and quality of APIs.
• Monitor and analyze API performance and metrics post-deployment.
• Maintain and enhance existing test automation frameworks and scripts.
• Provide detailed test reports and documentation for stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-6 years of experience in API testing, with a focus on RESTful and SOAP APIs.
• Proficiency in testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
• Experience with automation tools like JMeter, RestAssured, or Selenium.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Git, or Docker.
• Understanding of API documentation tools like Swagger or OpenAPI.
• Knowledge of database management and SQL for backend testing.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
