Ansible Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and sustain Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules aimed at automating infrastructure processes
• Streamline provisioning, configuration management, patching, and deployment tasks through automation
• Utilize Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) Tower for orchestrating job workflows
• Integrate Ansible with various tools such as ServiceNow, Splunk, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
• Create automation frameworks that are both reusable and scalable
• Conduct troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization of automation processes
• Adhere to best practices including idempotency, error handling, tagging, and version control
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover potential automation opportunities
• Produce documentation, runbooks, and facilitate knowledge transfer sessions

Technical Requirements:

• Utilization of Ansible Collections to build and manage structured, reusable automation components
• Configuration of AWX, Ansible Tower (AAP) for job templates, workflows, RBAC, and credentials
• Integration of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps with Ansible in automated pipelines
• Management of Vault Tools, including Ansible Vault and HashiCorp Vault, for safeguarding secrets and sensitive variables
• Automation of resources across Cloud Platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, and Kubernetes

Additional Responsibilities:

• Extensive hands-on experience with Ansible
• Proficient knowledge of Linux and Unix system administration
• Experience working with YAML, Jinja2 templating, and Git
• Comprehension of REST APIs and their integrations
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions
• Basic scripting capabilities in Python, Bash, and PowerShell
