AIR COMPRESSOR TECHNICIAN

Job Purpose

This role focuses on conducting preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for industrial compressed air systems. The primary duty involves diagnosing issues with malfunctioning air compressors, identifying the root causes of problems, and executing necessary repairs across all facilities, following maintenance requests, reports, or checklists provided by management.

Working under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, Maintenance and Facilities Manager, and Utilities Engineer, this position supports the production team to ensure the uninterrupted operation of equipment and machinery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

CORE AREA

Air Compressors, Air Dryers, Loading/Unloading Solenoids Operations / Operations & Maintenance

• Demonstrate expertise in the operation and maintenance of industrial air compressors for compressed air needs, including all auxiliary components such as dryers, filters, reservoir tanks, and cyclone separators within the air distribution network.
• Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics on malfunctioning compressors, identify potential causes, and carry out repairs based on the diagnostics and assessments made.
• Log daily readings, complete periodic checklists, and adhere to preventive maintenance schedules.
• Possess a thorough understanding of compressor components, encompassing lubrication systems, shut-down systems, loading and unloading valves, pistons, valves, and electrical systems.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes and filter replacements.
• Consistently uphold and apply proper safety protocols, personal hygiene, housekeeping standards, and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Implement lockout/tag out procedures, manage equipment start/stop operations, and conduct equipment checks.
• Respond promptly to plant emergencies as directed and address any abnormalities that arise.
