Accessibility Testing Engineer

• Conduct thorough accessibility testing on web and mobile applications using assistive technologies.
•  Perform manual and automated testing to identify accessibility issues.
• Document detailed accessibility bugs with clear reproduction steps and recommended solutions. 
• Validate compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards and relevant accessibility regulations.
• Provide expertise on screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other assistive technologies. 
• Create comprehensive test plans focusing on accessibility requirements.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to implement accessibility solutions. 
• Stay current with evolving accessibility standards, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications

• 2-4+ years of experience in software accessibility testing or related QA role.
• Proficiency with screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) and other assistive technologies. 
• Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 guidelines and Section 508 requirements.
• Experience with accessibility testing tools (Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse).
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and ARIA attributes.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical accessibility concepts. 
• Ability to advocate for users with disabilities throughout the product development lifecycle.

Preferred Skills 

• Accessibility certification (IAAP, CPACC, WAS).
• Experience with user testing sessions involving participants with disabilities. 
• Familiarity with mobile platform accessibility guidelines (iOS, Android).
• Understanding of inclusive design principles.
